So, after almost 9 years of dating, and not dating, and dating others...college, college, and more college...house hunting, home ownership, and some (emphasis in some) home improving - the fabulous duo of Snick and Yill tied the knot. Hold the applause.
It was, in fact, the most perfect and amazing day of my life to date. I really couldn't have gone better. There were hiccups...there were several hiccups along the way...but that made it all the more fun and exciting. My make-up lady didn't show up, so I got to hang out with a fantastic woman (Linda) at the Chanel counter after I got my hair done, who did my make-up a million times better than the original lady. I barely made it down the isle - word to those not married yet - make sure you can walk in your gown before you take it home :) Nick and I totally forgot our first dance routine (a side-effect of two people who hate the spotlight - had it down pat at home - totally different story infront of 175 people!), which we wouldn't have even got through if we had remembered it, as I swear somebody lubed up the bottom of my shoes and stuffed my dress when I wasn't looking. I ate like a pig and had food baby for the remainder of the evening. And with all of that...it was still perfect.
There's nothing more amazing than your friends and family taking time out of their busy schedules to sit in a hot church just to be with you as you say your vows. I think that one of the things that sticks out most in my memory is the deafening roar from the crowd as we kissed and after we were announced as Mr. and Mrs. I'm still in awe of the incredible people that surround me, and us, on a daily basis - and incredible women who I have the priveledge of calling friends - you know who you are.
We're on our 11th day of marriage - so far, so good. Marriage changes things - even when you're 29 and 30, have lived together on and off for 5 years, own a home together, etc. I didn't think it was possible - but we're closer than ever. The future looks bright - we're so looking forward to remodeling our house and finishing our yard. Nope, no talk of kids yet. Just enjoying being in something new - as with us, not there isn't much left that is...
I will publish pics later - don't have them yet. Looking forward to getting them - the ones before my food baby. Had one to many lobster rolls ;)
